Data Centers today commonly standardize on dual-power corded network gear as facilities managers continue to push for improved network availability. Regardless of the power input feeds, however, network gear does occasionally lock-up and requires a remote reboot procedure to bring it back to operational status. Data Centers aiming for five 9's availability (99.999% uptime) require a remote solution to reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) to decrease downtime and increase improved productivity & efficiency.
The Sentry PT22 combines high-amperage Power Distribution with Remote Management for applications such routers and backbone equipment with high power draws that require a remote reboot. When a router or switch hangs or locks-up, the entire network lock-ups with it. However, the Sentry PT22 enables network administrators to safely & efficiently reboot a hung-up router, switch or other network device to bring it back online quickly
The PT22 is ideal for applications that require a remote reboot of high-amp 115 VAC or 230 VAC powered equipment. It includes convenient remote access features to allow management via LAN/WAN networks for secure Web, SNMP or SSH; dial-up connection; and RS-232 for local terminal.
Additionally, the PT22 supports Pass-Thru Console Port Access -- via the complimentary Sentry PT49 -- to integrate secure, in-band and/or out-of-band asynchronous communications for serial connections to remote devices' console ports. Link the Sentry PT49 (Pass-Thru Console Port Access) to the PT22 (Remote Power Management) and integrate these two features into one interface. A common application for the PT49 is to access & update the configuration able of a router, or eliminate multiple modem lines or the need for an expensive terminal server.
